Our present major goal is to supply wear parts for the non-electrolytic winding machines. There's a lot of Barton capacitor winding machines out there. Many of you are not taking advantage of getting OEM or better quality parts, some of you are getting used wear parts, and I know where. We cannot supply every last part, but please give us a chance.

Proposed New Offering:
KRI has found a supplier to grind straightened spring steel music wire (Mandrel Stock) 18" lengths from round to factory spec halves. We have had success with 0.125" rounds so far. Cost is for Material & Grinding Setup. This is not ground tapered like original factory stuff, but after measuring it is so uniform that it works just as well. Just cut to length and it's a breeze to repair your precious tooling. On Medium Machines you can cut 4 halves per length. The material pack contains 25 lengths which equates to 100 pieces yield. Just a FYI estimate, cost is estimated about $500 and can be done now. That's about $5 each for Medium Machines, and just tell me how are you going to beat that?? I will post a "Buy" button after pricing a few runs. I really don't know yet whether they can grind stuff down to 0.060" yet.
Inquire soon before I realize that's not a high enough price. The music wire is not always in stock and subject to delay, so stock up now before you are in a panic. It might be worthwhile to get the print set below so you can keep all your tooling to spec. And YES, the stuff is running in production and not a wild dream.

Want to improve capacitor winding material tracking? Highly Suggested!
Ultra Stiff Dancer Arms for Tensioning. These dancer arms are produced from alloy 304 Stainless Steel (AKA type 18-10) with no lightening holes. They are over 100 times as torsionally stiff as their Aluminum counterparts. The original design is a total failure because material tracking changes occur with tension changes. They are designed, tested and are utilized in the Barton Small & Medium Winders. Two different designs are applied, one for film spindles and another for foil spindles (shorter). If you are experiencing capacitor ejection problems, we have a solution!
The original E W Barton design has a problem with the arbor sequencing plates biting into the guide rods. The original guide rods are fairly soft alloy 303 Stainless Steel (AKA type 18-8), and the sequencing plates are air hardened A7 Tool Steel to RC53 minimum. The rotation under pressure causes the plates to bite into the rods under heavy eject pressure and worse yet shave them.
For a fantastic price, I have available both alloy 440C Stainless Bearing Steel induction hardened to RC56 and Chrome Bearing Steel alloy 52100 induction hardened to RC58 Guide Rods. They are induction hardened to 0.020" depth, and are not at all brittle because the inner core retains complete integrity (no autensic or martensic crystalline structure formation or carbon embitterment). They are centerless ground to a 250 micro inch finish, straight because they are not heat treated, and extremely stiff.
This modification can regain up to 50% additional eject force and save money on destroyed arbors, not to mention destroyed capacitors. And yes, the plates wear out eventually and we make those too. Not to mention these rods never get shaved and never wear like the old ones.

Absolutely all E W Barton Company produced winding machines have a major OEM heat sealer problem.
Look in the Gallery Page of this site, or watch the movie to see a far superior capacitor sealer we produce. This sealer assembly has only 2 moving parts, and exerts the same low force at any diameter, and is made from non corroding Stainless Steel, the cylinder is also Stainless Steel with high temperature VITON® fluoroelastomer seals. There are absolutely no adjustments to make, no scrap and no headaches! I can price this easily for a Medium Foil Winder, however the geometrical layout mounting is not solved for all machines. But if you are adapt, a layout from concept drawings, you can easily have this at a reasonable price if you can do this and mount yourself. This is a must have item for sealing Capacitors.
