A Capacitor Winder rebuild which can help convert a Foil Winder to a single foil Metallized Burnoff Winding Machine(utilizes both sides of Foil, that's a savings feature).
Winding Rollers that are color coded by type of material (red for Burnoff Foil, Blue for Active Metallized, White for non-Metallized). Less than 23 sq. in. for 64mm Metallized material width.
Capacitor Winding Machine Control System Conversions?
Of course, our best retrofits are done here at our facility. On certain occasions, we do the field installable variety. Here's an example of a capacitor machine retrofit shipment, field installable, and if you have an E W Barton Company Capacitor Winding Machine you seriously need something like this retrofit (of course we retrofit any brand of winder). A metallized burnoff capacitor winding machine retrofit is featured on the Gallery Page, which a picture of the metallized burnoff insert is shown above. Shown below is the field installable version of a foil winding machine retrofit, you wouldn't see much difference in a metallized retrofit, except the linear counter.
Our Technology mentioned on this site has gone beyond what is shown. This is a budget style quick fix, and that would be more sophisticated today!
This conversion, of which not every part is shown, is shipped prewired at one end of every terminal block. It is for an E W Barton Medium Foil Winder which included:
Industrial nano-sized PLC with included analog I/O capability.
Optically Isolated Outputs with fuses.
Color Touch Screen Human Machine Interface.
Integrated Sealing Temperature PID Control for outside & core sealing.
All of our control systems feature cage-clamp high density terminal blocks by WAGO, basically the same blocks use by NASA in the Space Shuttle. This high density system replaces all other terminal blocks and is easily interfaced to remaining machine wiring. Your winder won't fail from vibration.
A rotary optical encoder replacing the obsolete counting sensors in the winder.
An improved replacement linear encoder with absolutely no analog drift, dramatically improves foil handling.
Integrated power fusing built within the terminal block system.
Details are far too numerous to include everything about this winder retrofit.
Program wise, turns controllable prewrap and afterwrap and winding resolution of 0.01 turns, all high speed counters are interrupt controlled irregardless of scan time. Foil perforation that is interrupt controlled for perfect consistency, etc. This is an economical example which did not include anywhere near all available technology.
Thisconversion replaces in entirety the capacitor winder relay technology, and that's all there is to it, but read the following:
The field installation is a labor intensive task and should be performed by KR International. It requires relocation of many items and knowledge of avoiding cross coupling of low voltage DC and AC noise during installation to mention a few.
This system is intrinsically far more accurate than what it replaces, and please notice that all commercial parts are utilized, as we promised no board level electronics.
